Amazonas engineering congress addresses salary floors and sanitation

The II Congress of Engineering, Agronomy, and Technology of Amazonas (Cenatec) was held in Manaus, bringing together specialists to discuss regional development, technology, and infrastructure.

During the event, Senator Plínio Valério advocated for the professional valuation of engineers and agronomists. He highlighted Bill 5346/2026, his authorship, which proposes updating the minimum wage floor for professionals within the Confea/Crea System to recognize their technical responsibilities.

Civil engineer Marcellus Campêlo addressed sanitation challenges in the Amazon region. He emphasized the importance of the Amazonas Basic Sanitation Microregion (MRSB/AM), a structure established by Complementary Law No. 272/2025. Campêlo noted that this microregion provides the legal and technical framework necessary to facilitate state and federal investments, as well as to attract private sector and international funding for water and sewage services across the state's 61 municipalities.
