Amazonas First Lady Thaisa Cidade Leads Gov't Inclusion Drive in Itacoatiara

On July 14‑17, the Amazonas state program “Governo Presente” was carried out in Itacoatiara, 176 km from Manaus. First lady Thaisa Cidade, honorary president of the Social Promotion and Hunger Eradication Fund, highlighted the initiative’s focus on citizenship, health and social inclusion. The State Health Secretariat provided neuropediatry consultations for 167 children, including assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder and issuance of identification cards. Blood‑type testing was also offered for the Autism Identification Card (CIPTEA).

The State Secretariat of Social Assistance distributed State Assistance cards, “Crédito Rosa” checks and menstrual dignity kits to vulnerable families, while the Secretariat of Disability Rights assisted 77 people with various identification documents and legal passes. Women’s self‑defence courses were certified by the Sports and Leisure Secretariat. The neuropediatry service will now be a permanent part of the program’s itinerary, according to the Amazonas government.
