Amazonas Governor promotes 316 military police officers

Amazonas Governor Roberto Cidade officially formalized the promotion of 316 officers and enlisted personnel of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM) during a ceremony at the Palacete Provincial in Manaus.

The promotions, which include seven senior officers being elevated to the rank of colonel, follow decrees signed in late September and mid-October. Governor Cidade stated that the measure addresses a long-standing demand from the category, noting that some officers had been awaiting these promotions for nearly ten years.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to value public security professionals in the state, which also includes promotions for military firefighters and civil police officers. The move aims to unblock career progressions and strengthen the integration of security agencies within Amazonas.
