Amazonas implements literacy initiatives and educational audits

Educational authorities in the state of Amazonas are implementing measures to improve literacy and learning in early childhood education. In Autazes, the Tribunal de Contas do Amazonas (TCE-AM) conducted an operational audit through its Department of Education Audit (DEAE). This inspection evaluates the application of evidence-based practices within the municipal school network and is part of a national audit coordinated by the Instituto Rui Barbosa (IRB).

Simultaneously, in Manaus, the Municipal Secretariat of Education (Semed) held a seminar titled ‘Diálogos, Práticas e Estratégias para Consolidação da Fluência Leitora’. The event gathered approximately 2,000 educators to share pedagogical strategies focused on reading fluency, including precision, speed, rhythm, and comprehension. This initiative is part of the ‘Alfabetiza+’ project, aimed at strengthening the foundations of literacy and student autonomy.
