Amazonas leaders rally support in Manaus neighborhoods

Senator and Amazonas pre‑governor candidate Omar Aziz held a gathering of about 1,000 residents in the Jorge Teixeira neighborhood of eastern Manaus. He called for the reinstatement of 24‑hour police stations, new health posts, full‑time schools and expanded social programs, emphasizing protection for women, mothers and vulnerable youth.

In a separate event, Manaus councilman Paulo Tyrone hosted roughly 500 community leaders in the city’s north zone to endorse former governor Wilson Lima’s pre‑candidacy for the Federal Senate. Lima pledged to bring his executive experience to the Senate and highlighted achievements such as the TEA network, permanent state assistance and the “Prato Cheio” program, while receiving testimonials from families benefiting from these policies.
