Amazonas Legislative Assembly honors local leaders and industry executives

The Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam) has moved to honor several individuals for their contributions to the region.

In a special session presided over by President Adjuto Afonso, the assembly awarded the Title of Citizen of Amazonas to Luiz Augusto Barreto Rocha, President of the Superior Council of the Center of Industry of the State of Amazonas (Cieam), and Lúcio Flávio Morais de Oliveira, the entity's executive president. Afonso noted that while the honorees were not born in the state, their commitment to the local industrial sector and the Manaus Free Trade Zone justifies the recognition.

Additionally, a proposal has been introduced by State Deputy Dr. Gomes to grant the same honorary title to Eurico Tavares. Tavares, an entrepreneur in the real estate, entertainment, and industrial sectors, was elected as a state deputy following a term as a Manaus city councilman. The proposal cites his legislative work and social projects, including professional qualification and inclusion initiatives, as grounds for the honor.
