Amazonas loan: MPF and AGU support R$ 1.46 billion credit

The Federal Public Ministry (MPF), the Attorney General of the Union (AGU), and Banco do Brasil have expressed support for a R$ 1.46 billion loan intended for the Government of Amazonas. This stance was presented to the 3rd Federal Civil Court of Amazonas following a temporary judicial suspension of the operation.

The MPF argued that new documentation has altered the legal landscape, suggesting there is no longer sufficient evidence of illegality to block the contract. The prosecution noted that the National Treasury Secretariat verified key aspects, including legislative authorization, the state's repayment capacity, and contractual drafts. Additionally, a report from the Ministry of Finance indicated that the necessary requirements for the credit and federal guarantees have been met.
