Amazonas Public Defender opens second phase of 'Meu Pai Tem Nome' campaign
The Public Defender's Office of the State of Amazonas (DPE‑AM) will hold the second stage of the "Meu Pai Tem Nome" campaign on 1 August in Manaus. The event offers 350 free appointments for family‑law matters, including paternity and maternity recognition, DNA testing, child support, custody and visitation regulation. Appointments are limited to the capital and can be booked via phone (92 3198‑1200) or WhatsApp (92 98159‑1599). The service will take place at the Defensoria’s administrative headquarters on Av. André Araújo, 679, Aleixo.
The initiative is part of a national movement coordinated by the National Council of Public Defenders (Condege) in partnership with public defender offices across Brazil. In 2024 the Defensoria performed over 400 free DNA tests and more than 500 related legal consultations; the 2025 campaign recorded over 450 attendances in the capital.
