Amazonas Public Prosecutor's Office strengthens 2026 election oversight

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Amazonas (MPAM) has strengthened its oversight measures ahead of the 2026 General Elections to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process. The agency has established a dedicated channel for citizens to report potential irregularities.

Key areas of focus include preventing the misuse of administrative power to coerce or pressure public servants into participating in political campaigns or party activities. MPAM emphasizes that the state administrative machine must not be used to benefit specific candidates, parties, or coalitions.

In municipalities such as Parintins and Manacapuru, administrative procedures have already been initiated following reports of irregularities. Prosecutors are working to guide local governments and state agencies on preventing employees from engaging in political rallies, parades, or other campaign activities during regular working hours.
