Amazonas Senate race: Eduardo Braga leads in polls amid candidate disputes

The race for the two Senate seats in Amazonas is intensifying as new polling data and political disputes emerge. According to a DMP survey, Senator Eduardo Braga leads the contest with 27.8% of total voting intentions, maintaining an 11.7 percentage point lead over Capitão Alberto Neto, who holds 16.1%. Braga shows significant strength in first-choice selections, reaching 44%. Former Governor Wilson Lima follows in third place with 14% of the total votes.

Amidst the polling, a heated dispute has broken out between candidates. Wilson Lima publicly challenged claims made by Eduardo Braga regarding the Hospital e Pronto-Socorro 28 de Agosto. Lima denied allegations that the facility had imposed a daily limit of 190 patients, asserting instead that the hospital maintains an average of 400 daily visits and remains open to all who need medical assistance. Lima criticized Braga, suggesting the Senator has become disconnected from the local reality of Manaus due to his time in Brasília.
