Amazonian audiovisual circuit concludes in Nova Olinda do Norte, Brazil

The "Projetando o Madeira: Circuito Audiovisual" finished its river‑based tour on 18 July, ending in Nova Olinda do Norte, Amazonas. Organized by the Coletivo Vozes da Periferia, the project visited the towns of Borba and Nova Olinda do Norte, providing free outdoor film screenings and hands‑on audiovisual workshops.

Across three workshops and four screenings, 244 children, youth and adults took part, learning digital literacy and mobile‑device filmmaking while celebrating local Amazonian identities. Project leader Ernan Passos noted the logistical challenge of reaching interior communities by river, and the Catholic Church in both municipalities helped mobilize participants.
