AMB 2026 trade fair to focus on AI and automation

The AMB international metalworking trade fair, scheduled for September 15-19, 2026, in Stuttgart, will focus on three primary themes: automation, the circular economy, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Guido Reimann, Deputy CEO of Software and Digitalization at VDMA, noted that AI has moved beyond the experimental phase in the machine tool industry. According to a VDMA survey from early 2026, over 80 percent of companies involved consider AI technologies to be highly significant, with approximately one-third already implementing AI in live environments. While many experimental projects continue to explore new applications, AI is increasingly being integrated into daily industrial practices, including software development, design, corporate management, and customer service.
