Ambar Energia settles labor dispute over 23-hour work shifts
Ambar Energia Amazonas S.A. has reached an R$ 800,000 settlement with the Labor Public Ministry (MPT) following allegations of severe labor irregularities. An investigation into the company's practices revealed instances where employees worked shifts of up to 23 hours, exceeded legal overtime limits, and faced a lack of weekly rest and meal intervals.
The settlement, which was ratified by a labor judge in Manaus, requires the company to pay the amount in ten installments. Failure to comply will result in a 50% fine on the total due. Additionally, Ambar Energia has committed to adhering to legal limits for daily and weekly working hours and ensuring mandatory rest and meal periods for its staff.
