Ambassador Cruise Line man overboard death confirmed

Police Scotland has confirmed that a man's body was recovered following a report that he went overboard from an Ambassador Cruise Line vessel in the North Sea. The incident occurred on Friday, August 21, 2026, when the ship, the Ambition, was approximately 40 nautical miles from Anstruther, Fife.

A large-scale search and rescue operation was launched involving police, HM Coastguard, aircraft, helicopters, and nearby vessels. Authorities stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. The man's next of kin have been informed.
