Ambea to issue offer for care company Humana
Ambea is expected to publish its offer document for shareholders of the care company Humana around August 24. The fixed part of the bid values the shares at nearly three billion Swedish kronor, and the board recommends that shareholders accept the offer. Shareholders have until September 30 to respond.
In a discussion regarding the valuation of care companies, Luis de Miranda, an associate professor in bioethics at Uppsala University, notes that the acquisition involves more than just financial assets like real estate and equipment. At the end of the year, Humana's goodwill amounted to 4.47 billion Swedish kronor, nearly half of the group's total assets. This figure includes intangible values such as reputation and staff continuity, which are critical to the quality of care and trust built over time, though these elements are not distinctly separated in standard accounting practices.
