Ambelos church marks 120 years since consecration

The Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Hieronymos, presided over a Panegyric Orthros and Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Ambelos on September 20, 2026.

The service marked the 120th anniversary of the church's consecration, which was originally performed by the then Archbishop of Larissa and Platamona, Ambrosios Kasaras. The event also served as a celebration of the church's successful restoration following extensive damage caused by the destructive earthquake on March 3, 2021. Despite bureaucratic challenges and the efforts required for repairs, the structure is now considered safe and capable of meeting the spiritual needs of the community.
