Amber Highway construction to begin in Montellano

Construction of the Amber Highway is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 29, in the municipality of Montellano. Heavy machinery, including excavators and tractors, was mobilized to the site on Wednesday, October 28, as engineers and architects held coordination meetings to prepare for the project.

The project is being executed by the Amber Highway Consortium, which includes Ingeniería Estrella, Rizek Constructora, Magna, and Constructora Mar. Preparations are also underway in Santiago to develop the project from both ends.

The highway will span approximately 35 kilometers, connecting Santiago with Puerto Plata. The infrastructure is intended to reduce travel times between the provinces, strengthen commerce, facilitate goods transport, and boost tourism in Puerto Plata, Sosúa, and Cabarete.
