Amber Siyavus, former Big Brother contestant, dies at 46

Amber Siyavus, a former contestant on the eighth season of the American reality series Big Brother, has died at the age of 46. According to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner in Nevada, Siyavus passed away on Friday, October 9, at her residence in Las Vegas. The official cause and manner of death are currently listed as pending.

Siyavus, who appeared on the show in 2007, was known to viewers by the nickname ‘Whamber’ due to her emotional nature during the competition. She finished the season in seventh place. Following the news, longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves shared a tribute on Instagram, praising Siyavus’s heart and honesty.

Siyavus’s life was marked by significant personal tragedy; her 18-year-old daughter, Lexi Tomcavage, died in 2018. Additionally, court records indicate that Siyavus had faced legal challenges in 2020, including pleas related to resisting an officer and felony forgery, though she was no longer under court supervision at the time of her death.
