Amberger Congress Centrum launches new solar energy system

The Amberger Congress Centrum (ACC) has officially commissioned a new photovoltaic system on its roof to enhance energy efficiency and reduce its ecological footprint. Installed by the local company Grammer Solar, the system has a capacity of 85 kilowatt-peak (kWp).

The facility is expected to generate approximately 85,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually. Of this, nearly 60,000 kWh—roughly 25 percent of the center's total annual electricity consumption—can be used directly on-site.

To maximize the utility of the solar power, the ACC is optimizing its energy processes. This includes reconfiguring certain electrical consumers that previously operated primarily at night to run during the day, allowing for more direct use of the generated solar energy. The initiative is part of a broader sustainability strategy aimed at securing long-term energy supply and reducing dependence on external energy price fluctuations.
