Ambition Brewing fire in Wilton ruled accidental
The Maine Office of State Fire Marshal has ruled that a fire at Ambition Brewing in Wilton was accidental. The blaze occurred on the afternoon of October 5 at the business located on Main Street.
Investigators determined the fire originated beneath the rear portion of the building during renovation work. The property owner discovered the fire after old flooring was being cut and removed. According to officials, dry organic debris, such as leaves that had accumulated under the partially exposed structure, likely ignited during the flooring removal process.
Firefighters from Wilton and several surrounding communities, including Jay, Farmington, Rumford, Temple, and East Dixfield, responded to the scene. They were able to contain the flames to one of the two buildings occupied by the brewery, though a second building sustained smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported.
