Ambon City Government denies nepotism in infrastructure development

The Ambon City Government has stated that infrastructure development and public services, including road maintenance and clean water provision, are conducted based on regional planning mechanisms and necessity rather than nepotism or personal interests.

Spokesperson Ronald Lekransy clarified that Mayor Bodewin M. Wattimena and Vice Mayor Ely Toisutta prioritize projects based on technical feasibility, population density, the strategic value of service routes, and the level of infrastructure damage. He noted that while the need for development remains high, limited regional budgets require a phased approach according to established planning documents and the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD).
