Yaga series reimagines Baba Yaga myth in new trailer

A new trailer has been released for ‘Yaga’, a supernatural mystery thriller series set to premiere on AMC+ and Crave on October 23, 2026. Created, written, and executive produced by Kat Sandler, the eight-episode series is based on her stage play and reimagines the Slavic folklore of the Baba Yaga myth within a contemporary coastal setting.

The plot follows Rapp, a private investigator played by Noah Reid, who arrives in the town of Whittock to investigate the disappearance of Henry Park, a young heir to a local fishery empire. The investigation involves a complex web of characters, including a local detective played by Clark Backo and a charismatic university professor played by Carrie-Anne Moss. Hudson Williams stars in a dual role as both the missing heir and his lookalike, Logan.

The series, which recently had a preview at the Toronto International Film Festival, features a soundtrack including an Alanis Morissette cover of ‘Season of the Witch’. The production involves Bell Media and includes an ensemble cast featuring Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, and Katharine Isabelle.
