AMCRC launches South Australian node for additive manufacturing

The Additive Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (AMCRC) has established a new South Australian Node at Flinders University’s Tonsley campus. Supported by the South Australian Government, the facility aims to connect local manufacturers with research expertise to accelerate the commercial development of additive manufacturing technologies.

The Node will facilitate collaboration between industry, government, and academic institutions, including Flinders University and Adelaide University. It provides access to a national network of research opportunities and technical capabilities to support sectors such as defence, aerospace, healthcare, energy, and space.

AMCRC has secured $57 million in government funding to support research and startups across Australia. Current projects include the development of wear-resistant coatings, local titanium powder production, and the creation of anatomical dental models for surgical training.
