AMD celebrates Core 2 Duo anniversary while launching Ryzen AI Embedded X199 for robotics

AMD marked the 20th anniversary of the Core 2 Duo processor, recalling its role in shifting the CPU market a decade ago. At the same time, the company introduced the Ryzen AI Embedded X199, the top model of its new X100 series. The X199 combines up to 16 Zen‑5 CPU cores, a 40‑unit Radeon RDNA‑3 GPU and an XDNA‑2 NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS, targeting robotics, industrial automation, machine‑vision, medical imaging, drones and other edge‑AI applications.

The new SoC supports up to 128 GB of shared memory and features a 5.1 GHz boost clock for the CPU and a 2.9 GHz GPU. AMD positions the platform as a long‑term embedded solution that merges CPU, GPU and AI acceleration in a single package.
