AMD chips drive robotics and server AI platforms

Foundation Future Industries is equipping its humanoid Phantom robots with AMD’s Ryzen AI Embedded X100 Series, which combines Zen‑5 CPU cores, RDNA‑3 graphics and an XDNA‑2 neural‑processing unit. The company plans to lease industrial units for about $100,000 a year and a higher‑cost defence version around $300,000, highlighting the shift toward on‑board AI processing that reduces latency and cloud reliance.

At the same time, Supermicro has launched its H15 server portfolio powered by AMD’s 6th‑generation EPYC‑9006 processors, Instinct GPUs and Pensando networking. The new systems offer up to 256 cores, 512 threads, doubled PCIe bandwidth and up to 2.6‑times greater memory throughput, positioning them as a full‑stack alternative to Nvidia‑based AI infrastructure for training and inference workloads.
