AMD expands AI portfolio with MEXT acquisition and Rackspace partnership

AMD announced the acquisition of MEXT, a pioneer in AI‑driven memory‑optimization technology. The deal, advised by Latham & Watkins, aims to integrate MEXT’s capabilities across AMD’s data‑center products to boost enterprise AI performance.

Separately, AMD and Rackspace Technology signed a definitive agreement to deploy 30 MW of AMD‑based AI compute across Rackspace’s global data‑center footprint. The rollout, planned for 2026‑2028, will use AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs to deliver governed AI infrastructure for regulated sectors such as healthcare, offering a managed stack from silicon to services.
