AMD launches Helios AI rack and integrated robotics platform
At the Advancing AI 2026 event in San Francisco, AMD announced a broad AI‑focused product line. The centerpiece is the Helios rack‑scale AI solution, which combines 72 Instinct MI455X GPUs, 18 sixth‑generation EPYC "Venice" CPUs and Pensando networking, and is claimed to deliver up to 30% more inference tokens per dollar than competing systems.
AMD also introduced the Kria AI system‑on‑module and a Robotics Developer Platform built around the new Ryzen AI Embedded X100 Series processors. The X100 integrates CPU, GPU, NPU and FPGA on a single memory pool, offering a 3.4× real‑time processing advantage over Nvidia’s Jetson platform and supporting up to 2.3× more concurrent agents. Foundation Future Industries is the first early adopter, moving its Phantom humanoid robots to the new platform.
To complement the hardware, AMD launched ROCm.ai, an AI‑assisted development environment, and highlighted collaborations with OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle and other technology firms.
