AMD launches ROCm 10 and ROCm. AI toolkit to boost performance
AMD has launched ROCm 10, the tenth iteration of its open-source GPU compute software stack, alongside a new AI-native developer toolkit called ROCm. AI. The release aims to simplify the deployment and optimization of AI workloads on AMD Instinct and Radeon GPUs.
Key features include Hyperloom, a tool designed to automate performance tuning and reduce optimization time from weeks to hours. AMD reports significant performance boosts on its Instinct MI355X platform, including a 3.3x increase in inference throughput for models like GLM-5 and DeepSeek-R1, and a 2.4x gain in training efficiency for models such as DeepSeek-V3.
In conjunction with these software advancements, the AMD DevMaster Hackathon recently concluded, featuring nearly 3,900 global developers. The competition showcased practical AI applications across Multimodal, Agentic, and Physical AI tracks, demonstrating the utility of AMD’s hardware and ROCm software in real-world scenarios such as financial research tools and robotics simulation.
