AMD launches Ryzen AI Halo mini PC for AI workstations

AMD has opened pre‑orders for its Ryzen AI Halo mini PC, a compact AI workstation built around the Zen‑5‑based Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. The system combines 16 Zen‑5 cores running up to 5.1 GHz, an integrated Radeon 8060S GPU with 40 compute units, and an XDNA‑2 NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS. All components share 128 GiB of LPDDR5X unified memory, and the device includes a 2 TB PCIe SSD, a 120 W power supply, and a 150 × 150 × 43.2 mm chassis that weighs about one kilogram. Two OS options are offered—Linux or Windows 11 Pro—and the unit is priced at US$3,999.99. Pre‑orders are accepted exclusively through Micro Center in the United States, with the earliest in‑store pickup scheduled for 10 July 2026. A higher‑spec version with the Ryzen AI Max+ 495 and 192 GiB of memory is slated for release in the third quarter of 2026. AMD positions the Halo as a x86 alternative to Nvidia’s DGX Spark AI workstation.
