AMD Radeon GPUs receive unofficial NVIDIA DLSS technology via new mod
Developer Daniel Blanco has released version 0.8.0 of the DLSS-NR-on-AMD mod, which brings several of NVIDIA’s proprietary DLSS technologies to AMD Radeon GPUs. The update supports nearly all modern DLSS features, including Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, and Multi Frame Generation at up to 4x.
Unlike simple hacks, the project utilizes a unique implementation involving AMD-specific HIP kernels and DirectX 12 integration to run NVIDIA’s neural network models on AMD hardware. The mod supports RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 architectures, specifically targeting Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 series cards.
New features in this version include the NeuralHub, a centralized manager that allows users to select specific functionalities via an in-game overlay. Early community reports indicate performance improvements, with some users demonstrating Ray Reconstruction in Cyberpunk 2077 on an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. Users must provide their own NVIDIA DLSS DLL files, as the mod does not include proprietary binaries.
