AMD launches Radeon RX 9050 entry‑level GPU with 8 GB and 4 GB variants
AMD has unveiled the Radeon RX 9050, an entry‑level graphics card built on the RDNA 4 architecture (Navi 44). The GPU features 16 compute units, 1,024 stream processors and a boost clock of up to 2.6 GHz, with a board‑power rating of roughly 92‑100 W.
Two memory configurations are offered. The standard 8 GB model uses a 128‑bit GDDR6 interface that provides 288 GB/s of bandwidth and is priced at a US$279 suggested retail price. A reduced‑spec 4 GB version halves the memory interface to 64 bit, cutting bandwidth to 144 GB/s; AMD says this version is intended solely for OEM or pre‑built systems and will not be sold as a standalone retail card.
The launch is limited to the Asia‑Pacific/Japan region and Latin America, with other markets pending. AIB partners such as ASRock, Sapphire and PowerColor have announced their own versions, including a compact Sapphire PULSE card that uses the same chip, a dual‑slot 200 mm board, and a typical 100 W board‑power rating. Support for the RX 9050 was added in the AMD Software Adrenalin 26.7.1 driver release.
