AMD increases Radeon GPU prices amid rising component costs
AMD has reportedly begun implementing price increases for several Radeon GPU models, starting in the Chinese market with expected impacts on international markets in the coming weeks. While AMD has not yet publicly confirmed these global adjustments, reports from industry sources indicate that suggested retail prices for the fourth quarter have been raised.
The price hikes affect various models, with the most significant increases seen in the Radeon RX 9070 and the RX 9060 XT 16GB. For instance, the RX 9070 has seen a reported increase of approximately 12.5%, while the 16GB variant of the RX 9060 XT has risen by roughly 14%. Interestingly, the higher-end RX 9070 XT model reportedly remains at its previous price point, which may shift the price-to-performance ratio within the lineup.
These adjustments are driven by rising manufacturing and component costs. Specifically, the high demand for memory in data centers for artificial intelligence has strained the supply of graphics memory. Additionally, increased production costs from semiconductor manufacturers like TSMC and rising prices for raw materials and PCBs are contributing to the upward pressure on GPU pricing.
