AMD Ryzen AI hardware powers new laptop design and mini PC

New hardware designs featuring AMD’s Ryzen AI processors are emerging for both laptops and mini PCs. Sixunited has unveiled the AXN88B-160M-YD, a 16-inch laptop reference design powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495. This system is notable for its support of up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 unified memory, allowing up to 160GB to be allocated to the integrated Radeon 8065S graphics. This high memory capacity is intended to support local language models and intensive content creation.

In the mini PC segment, the Geekom A9 Max features the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor and Radeon 890M integrated graphics. Designed as a productivity machine with an emphasis on AI workflows, the device is capable of 1080p gaming. While it offers upgradeable RAM and storage, its out-of-the-box single-channel RAM configuration may impact initial performance.
