AMD to raise Radeon GPU prices by at least 10% in August

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has notified its add‑in‑board (AIB) partners that the supply price for GPU and VRAM bundles will increase by a minimum of 10% starting in August. The move follows Nvidia’s recent 30% price hike for its RTX 50 series and is driven by rising memory costs linked to soaring AI demand, which has tightened supplies of GDDR6 and GDDR7 chips.

AMD’s new pricing will affect Radeon models such as the RX 9050, originally launched under $300 but now selling for $450‑$550 in the US. Analysts expect the hike could push some AMD cards into the same price range as Nvidia’s products, with potential retail prices reaching $760 for certain mid‑range GPUs. The company may also re‑introduce 4 GB memory cards to address inventory concerns.

The price adjustment is expected to be applied uniformly across partners like ASUS, Sapphire, PowerColor and MSI, with the final impact on consumers depending on each retailer’s pricing strategy.
