AMD launches Radeon RX 9050 GPU with 8GB and limited 4GB OEM variants

AMD announced the Radeon RX 9050 graphics card, built on the RDNA 4 architecture. The standard model features 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, a 92 W total board power and 16 compute units, targeting smooth 1080p gaming for titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty and NBA 2K27. It retails for US$279 and is sold in markets including the United States, Latin America and the Asia‑Pacific region. In Japan, the card is offered in Frontier’s custom‑built gaming PCs across three chassis styles.

A lower‑spec 4 GB VRAM version also appears, but only as an OEM‑only option in pre‑built desktop systems. The 4 GB model uses a 64‑bit memory bus, halving bandwidth to about 144 GB/s, and is listed in ready‑made PCs such as a CyberPowerPC configuration sold by Best Buy for US$849.99. AMD clarified that this variant will not be sold separately to consumers and is intended for budget builds, though its reduced memory may limit performance in newer games that demand higher VRAM.
