AMDC implements telework and staggered shifts due to fuel prices
The Alcaldía Municipal del Distrito Central (AMDC) has announced the temporary implementation of staggered work schedules and teleworking measures to address rising fuel prices. These changes are part of the Municipal Program for Fuel Savings and Efficient Use, effective from September 29 through December 31, 2026.
To optimize resources and reduce operational costs, municipal staff will be distributed across four different shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additionally, teleworking will be applied on Fridays for personnel whose duties can be performed remotely, subject to departmental coordination.
The AMDC stated that these measures will not affect citizen service or the continuity of municipal functions. Emergency responders, field workers, cleaning staff, and those providing direct public assistance will continue to work according to their established schedules. The program also includes stricter controls on the institutional vehicle fleet and a prioritization of digital alternatives to minimize travel and expenses.
