AMDComVal transforms into MITJANS business association

The Association of Digital Media of the Valencian Community (AMDComVal) has approved its transformation into a business association under the new brand MITJANS. Founded in 2008, the organization is evolving from a non-profit entity into a professional business association to better represent the interests of the media sector.

The association currently includes 64 media outlets across the provinces of Alicante, Castellón, and Valencia. This restructuring aims to address emerging industry challenges, such as the rise of artificial intelligence and new technologies, while providing stronger defense for media companies, particularly smaller editorial projects.

Santiago Calaforra, president of MITJANS, stated that the new brand “reaffirms what we are and where we are from.” The new leadership team includes Silvia Tormo as vice president, Antonio Nieto as secretary, and Javier Llopis as treasurer. The official presentation of the new entity is scheduled for October 22 at the Palau de la Música in Valencia.
