Amdocs and Oracle cut tens of thousands of jobs in AI-driven restructuring

Amdocs, the Nasdaq‑listed software and services provider, announced a plan to cut between 2,700 and 3,000 jobs worldwide – roughly 10% of its 29,000‑person workforce – with a large share of the cuts expected in Israel, where it employs about 5,000 people. The layoffs are part of a strategic re‑organization led by new CEO Shimie Hortig to reshape the company around artificial‑intelligence technologies.

Oracle Corp. disclosed its largest‑ever workforce reduction, targeting about 30,000 employees – roughly 18% of its global staff – to be completed by June 15. The cuts affect divisions such as Oracle Health, Revenue and Health Sciences, SaaS, Virtual Operations Services and NetSuite’s India Development Centre, and include many staff in India. The move follows a period of strong financial performance, with cloud and AI revenue surging, and is aimed at reallocating resources toward high‑growth AI infrastructure and cloud services.

Both companies are using the layoffs to fund aggressive AI and cloud investments, reflecting a broader trend of technology firms reshaping operations around emerging AI capabilities.
