AME Marília medical center begins construction

Construction has begun on the Ambulatório Médico de Especialidades (AME) in Marília, located in the Lácio district. The project, secured through the efforts of State Deputy Dani Alonso and supported by Federal Deputy Capitão Augusto and Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, involves an investment of R$ 79.8 million.

The facility is being built on a 26,000-square-meter site and is expected to be completed by April 2028. Once operational, the AME will serve residents from 19 municipalities in the region, providing specialized services including general, pediatric, and plastic surgery, as well as dermatology, orthopedics, urology, and dentistry. The center will also offer occupational therapy, psychology, nutrition, and nursing services.

A legislative proposal is currently moving through the São Paulo State Legislative Assembly to name the unit after Dr. Adib Haber, a former municipal health secretary.
