TFF announces technological and officiating reforms for Süper Lig
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu has announced significant reforms and technological upgrades for the 2026-2027 Trendyol Süper Lig season. Key initiatives include the introduction of international VAR referees to support the development of local officials and reduce pressure on young referees. Additionally, Anthony Taylor will serve as the Elite Referee Director for the Central Referee Committee to enhance refereeing standards.
Technological advancements will feature the implementation of connected 'chip-ball' technology and goal-line technology. The existing semi-automated offside system will also be upgraded to an 'Advanced VAR' system to minimize errors and improve game flow.
As the new season approaches, clubs are also preparing for matchday operations, with ticket prices showing significant variance; Galatasaray offers the most expensive VIP Premium combinations at 645,000 TL, while Başakşehir offers the most affordable at 3,000 TL. The season is set to commence with high-profile matches, including Galatasaray vs. Çorum FK.
