Ameli health insurance management and NOEMIE teletransmission

Managing health insurance changes through the Ameli platform relies on the NOEMIE teletransmission system, which connects private complementary insurers to the French National Health Insurance (Assurance Maladie). Users cannot manually switch insurers within their Ameli account; instead, the new insurance provider must activate the NOEMIE link to ensure automatic reimbursement processing.

There is often a delay of several business days to approximately ten days between signing a new contract and the information appearing on the Ameli portal. This delay occurs while the insurer processes the file and transmits the data to the CPAM. During this transition, the previous insurer may still appear in the system.

It is important to note that the information displayed on Ameli reflects the teletransmission connection rather than the actual active status of a private contract. Because the link may persist for several weeks after a cancellation, or may not appear immediately after a new subscription, the most reliable way to verify coverage is to request a dated certificate of membership directly from the insurance provider.
