Amelia Bell promotes olive‑oil, lemon and ginger ‘wellness shot’ as coffee alternative

Amelia Bell, editor of Women's Health (UK), replaced her morning coffee with a simple mixture of one tablespoon extra‑virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice and a thin slice of ginger. After several weeks she reported gradual improvements in skin appearance, mood, digestion and sustained energy, while noting a reduction in stress.

The drink, popular on Instagram and TikTok as a “wellness shot”, has drawn attention from nutrition experts. Rhian Stephenson, founder of the UK nutrition brand Artah, stresses that the shot is not a caffeine substitute and its benefits depend on overall lifestyle. Olive oil supplies monounsaturated fats and polyphenols that may support heart health and gut microbiota; ginger provides anti‑inflammatory gingerol; lemon adds vitamin C and aids digestion. Experts caution it is not a miracle cure but a complementary health habit.
