Amelie Voigt Trejes named world's youngest billionaire

Amelie Voigt Trejes, aged 21, has been named the world's youngest billionaire according to the annual Forbes ranking. Her fortune is estimated at approximately R$ 6.7 billion (US$ 1.1 billion). She surpassed German heir Johannes von Baumbach by a margin of seven weeks.

Trejes is a member of the third generation of the founding family of WEG, a Brazilian multinational specializing in electric motors, energy generation, and industrial equipment. While she does not hold an executive position, she is part of the controlling shareholder group through family holding companies, controlling roughly 2.54% of the company's capital.

Trejes is part of a significant group of young heirs from the same family. Her siblings, 23-year-old twins Felipe and Pedro Voigt Trejes, each have estimated fortunes of US$ 1.1 billion. Additionally, 22-year-old Lívia Voigt de Assis and 28-year-old Dora Voigt de Assis hold estimated fortunes of US$ 1.4 billion each. Together, the sisters hold approximately 3.1% of WEG shares.
