Ameren expands customer assistance funding and updates 20-year energy plan

Ameren has announced a $10 million funding increase for customer assistance programs serving Missouri and Illinois. The funds are intended to help residential and small-business customers manage high energy bills, reduce past-due balances, and access weatherization support. Specific programs receiving support include the Warm Neighbors Cool Friends matching grant in Illinois and the Energy Relief Grant in Missouri, alongside dedicated assistance for military members and veterans.

Separately, Ameren Missouri has updated its 20-year Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) to address long-term reliability and energy needs. The updated strategy includes a diverse portfolio of new generation and storage resources. Key planned additions include significant natural gas capacity, solar and wind generation, battery storage, and nuclear generation to support projected demand through 2045.
