America.gov AI chatbot confirms Joe Biden won 2020 election
The newly launched America.gov website, featuring an AI-driven chatbot designed to help citizens navigate government information, has provided responses that contradict claims made by President Donald Trump regarding the 2020 election.
When queried about the 2020 presidential race, the AI agent stated that “Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 U.S. presidential election” and that “Donald J. Trump lost.” The chatbot cited official data from the National Archives and the Federal Election Commission, noting Biden’s 306 electoral votes and approximately 81.2 million popular votes.
Regarding allegations of widespread fraud, the chatbot reported that “official federal sources do not indicate that widespread fraud altered the outcome of the 2020 presidential election,” though it noted that isolated election crimes occurred and were prosecuted. Additionally, the AI noted that under the 22nd Amendment, Donald Trump has already been elected twice (2016 and 2024), meaning he cannot be elected president more than twice.
As reports of these discrepancies circulated, the chatbot began modifying its responses, occasionally stating it could not answer “political questions” when asked about the 2020 election, impeachment proceedings, or criminal convictions.
