American Airlines expands Pecan Lodge barbecue on DFW flights

American Airlines is expanding its partnership with Dallas-based restaurant Pecan Lodge, bringing Central Texas-style barbecue to more domestic First Class flights. Starting September 9, 2026, the expanded menu will be available on eligible domestic flights departing from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

First Class passengers will have the option to preorder a smoked brisket sandwich for lunch or a barbecue platter for dinner via the airline's website or mobile app. To maintain quality, the meats are seasoned and slow-smoked at Pecan Lodge in Dallas before being packaged for in-flight preparation by American's catering partners.

The decision to expand follows positive customer feedback from an initial limited rollout on select routes between DFW and New York.
