American Airlines hikes Admirals Club fees and appoints DO & CO for Heathrow catering

American Airlines announced a major overhaul of its Admirals Club membership structure effective 23 August 2026. Two tiers will replace the current model: a guest‑access tier priced at $1,400–$1,200 (or 140,000–120,000 AAdvantage miles) depending on elite status, and a single‑member tier costing $750 (75,000 miles) with no guest privileges. Existing household memberships are being discontinued, and discounts for AAdvantage elites are eliminated. The changes represent a significant price increase for members who previously paid $800–$1,600 for individual or household access.

In a separate development, American Airlines confirmed that DO & CO will permanently provide in‑flight catering for its London Heathrow flights. The transition is expected to take about four months, with new catering trucks arriving in August and September 2026. The move aims to improve food quality for passengers on AA’s UK routes.
