American Airlines may launch Los Angeles to Singapore nonstop service

American Airlines may be planning to re-establish nonstop service between Los Angeles and Singapore. This potential move follows hints from Chief Commercial Officer Nat Pieper regarding the reinvigoration of the airline’s Pacific operations, supported by the addition of new Boeing 787-9P aircraft to its fleet.

In previous years, American Airlines had dismantled Los Angeles as its primary Asia gateway due to intense competition and profitability hurdles. The airline had struggled to compete with the high capacity of various Asian carriers serving the Los Angeles market. The proposed route would mark a significant shift in the company’s strategy to rebuild its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
