American Akita Linea seeks new home after rescue from neglect

Linea, a six-year-old female American Akita, is seeking a new home after being rescued from severe neglect and abuse. The dog was previously held under a preventive seizure ordered by the Lucca Court following criminal proceedings against her owner.

According to animal rights associations Lida Versilia and Lav, Linea was kept on a chain so short she could not lie down, and was denied both food and water. Upon entering the municipal kennel in Viareggio, veterinarians discovered a life-threatening uterine infection. She underwent emergency surgery for pyometra and an ovariohysterectomy to stabilize her health. The rescue was a collaborative effort between Lida Versilia and the Lav animal abuse desk in Lucca.
