American athlete Mak Manciel shares observations on living in Romania

American basketball player Mak Manciel has shared his observations regarding life in Romania after moving there to pursue his athletic career. Manciel noted that his perceptions of Eastern Europe were significantly altered by the high density of luxury vehicles, such as Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Teslas, which he encountered more frequently than expected.

He also highlighted differences in urban mobility, noting that while cars are indispensable in the United States, he has found himself walking or using electric scooters and public transportation in Romania. Manciel remarked on the accessibility of the metro and bus systems, as well as the prevalence of ride-sharing services. Additionally, he found communication easier than anticipated, observing that English proficiency is common among Romanians under the age of 40.
